Hearts across the music scene sank over the past week with news that Harvest Festival may be dropped this year due to poor ticket sales.
Tonight, festival organiser, AJ Maddah, has announced that the arts and music festival will no longer be running on its planned November dates.
This year’s installment was scheduled to see Franz Ferdinand, M. Ward, Desaparecidos, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Goldfrapp take to the stage, and also see Justin Vernon’s new project Volcano Choir make their first ever appearance on Australian stages.
Maddah has made comment that all ticketholders will be refunded in full from Oztix, with information that replacement tours featuring Harvest artists will be announced in coming days. Maddah also noted that Harvest punters will have priority once the smaller tours go on sale.
You can find Courtney on Twitter, where she will be live-tweeting her sadness about not seeing M. Ward, Desaparecidos and Volcano Choir in the one day. This is why we can’t have nice things, Australia.
