Winning tickets to anything good, but winning tickets to Kings of Leon, live in Sydney Harbour is out of this world! Playing to an elite group of 600 VIP V Music and Triple M followers, Kings of Leon brought the magic to Goat Island, Sydney Harbour last week. With a backdrop of Sydney Harbour Bridge, and featuring songs from their new album Mechanical Bull, it seems Kings of Leon can do no wrong.
The show originally schedule for the Monday was postponed due to bad weather, but that didn’t deter eager fans making their way to King Street Wharf the following day. Fans and VIP members alike were transported to the picturesque Goat Island via cruise boat, where upon arrival were greeted with a perfect view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge behind a quaint makeshift stage.
With a sun set backdrop and drinks in hand the vibe was set for Kings of Leon to begin their unforgettable performance. Beginning with their lead single ‘Supersoaker’, from the new album, Mechanical Bull, the band played an energetic set, filled with a mix of new and old material including ‘Beautiful War’,’Molly’s Chambers’, ‘Use Somebody’ and ‘On Call’ before closing on crowd pleaser and number one hit ‘Sex on Fire.’
All in all, an unforgettable, 10/10 performance with a perfect setlist, perfect view and perfect weather.
Unlucky fans whom missed out on winning tickets to Goat Island, as well as tickets to their now sold-out gig at Enmore Theatre will have to wait until 2014 when Kings of Leon will return to Australia for a full tour. And after their incredible performance on Goat Island, I’d recommend getting in early for 2014 tickets as this will be a tour not to be missed.
Kings Of Leon‘s new album, Mechanical Bull is out now.
